those blocks are a myth. nobody has scraps like that. not even you. you can tell us (whisper: where did they come from? what are they scraps of?)

i loove those blocks. can't wait to see the whole quilt.

I love it! I have some 30's scraps that would really look nice in one of these! Now I know just what to do with them. :mrgreen: Thanks for the inspiration.

Great Chele!
I have what I call a Buq quilt (butt ugly quilt). I just used every color imaginable in the strings--yet it gets used almost every day in the wintertime!! Anyway I started with a right triangle of all the same fabric in one corner. The short sides of the triangle were about 4" long. I did some twisting and turning of the 8 1/2" blocks to give this poor thing some motion. It really depleted my stash. But now have another one growing cause I left some fabric seeds in the basement near my sewing room.

Beautiful!! I've done this for table toppers, etc. What do you use for a stabilizer? I have used muslin and even fabric that I had in my stash that I didn't like (but couldn't throw away). I've also cut up pillow cases I didn't use anymore, etc.
