I designed this quilt from traditional elements. It is 82" x 98" and is quilted with an all-over meander with my DSM.

ManiacQuilter2 06-18-2016 06:36 AM

Nice way to use up some scraps.

Really pretty! You have a gift with putting scraps together. When I do it, it looks terrible.

Prettiest string quilt I've ever seen! I love string blocks w/in a quilt but don't usually like a completely string quilt. This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

RedGarnet222 06-18-2016 08:15 AM

Great string quikt! I love looking at scrap quikts to see if I recognize any fabrics from my stash. I see jelly beans, bandana, candy corn and Indian corn....

zozee 06-18-2016 11:58 AM

I love it! Never saw one like it. And I recognize some scraps (wonder if I sent them or just coincidence?) . Jelly beans and a purple with black and white flowers.

OMG I absolutely love this. I enjoy making string blocks, but have gotten tired of the usual setting. This one is going to the top of my list. Thanks for sharing.

oksewglad 06-18-2016 02:02 PM

Another WOW...sew simple, but sew well done...thanks for sharing...are those 4" finished squares?

AngeliaNR 06-18-2016 02:16 PM

Yes--4" finished.

zozee--I put in some flames, some dragons (or leftover parts thereof), and some tomatoes from you!

redquilter 06-18-2016 02:25 PM

Gorgeous! I love your pattern and how the colors pop on the WOW background. I also like that you skipped a border. Some quilts just really don't need one.

Oh plays, this sings to my soul. Beautiful Quilt. I love string blocks. AND looks like I'll be stealing your design. I have a bunch more strips that can be sewn. Have about 100 green string blocks ready and waiting for something. this might be it.

mike'sgirl 06-18-2016 04:40 PM

That is one of the prettiest scrap quilts I have seen. Nice job!

BrendaK 06-18-2016 05:07 PM

I love it. Beautiful quilt. What is the pattern name please or did you do this of the top of your head? BrendaK

I combined a couple of traditional ideas and went from there. I call it "String Crossroads." Eventually, I hope to write it up to offer for free on my blog.

Thanks for the kind words.

I LOVE this version of this design! It's diagonals add so much eye appeal to the movement in the quilt. Great job!
