WOW what a great inspiration you are...to love teaching and giving. Not only being an inspiration to them with you teaching talents but your artistic talents and then to share books with them...such dedication. I hope you are feeling much better...you are a great blessing and will be rewarded greatly

Gosh, you are all so sweet. Thank you.

I'm still battling my germs, today will be my third day out of school and that's only the 2nd time in 15 years; the first time was for a sick kid. I almost went in for half a day today, but decided to do the mature thing and rest more. I never left the couch yesterday except to tend horses and make myself eat to take meds. I like the couch now. Naps are my friend....

It's gonna take time for you to get back on your feet. I know you hate sitting still, but don't push it. Remember it takes a minimum of 48 to 72 hours for the antibiotics to kick in. Hugs and more hugs!!

How cute! What a great idea! What did you use inbetween the sandwiched fabrics? I love the gromet detail...what size are they? Thanks!
Maybe you could do a tute for us all when you're feeling better.
Blessings,
MaryAnna

Karla, rest and take your meds! We need you healthy! So do your family, critters and kids.
Thanks for letting us know that you are actually doing what the doctor ordered!

Love the bookmarks. A very clever teacher gift. And two books too. Wow I wish I had a teacher like you when I was going to school.
I do hope you feel better real soon and get to enjoy the holidays. I am most sorry to say that, yes, they are soon.

I returned to school today--much to the relief of my students. They were wonderful for the subs, but I guess there's no one like their teacher. It was a slow start, but once I got going, I was fine. Think I'll head to bed early though.

The rest of the books came today, so I can start picking who gets which!

The bookmarks have just muslin in the middle. I make a 9" square of muslin, sew strips onto them, and trim them up to 9" squares. Then I cut that into 3" strips and that's three bookmark tops. I cut 3" by 9" pieces for the back, put right sides together, and sew around using about a 1/8" seam. Then I Steam-A-Seam the opening closed. Then I add the grommets--just the small size--and tassels and beads. There's nothing complicated at all!! :-D

Thanks so much for taking time to send the instructions. I may could have done it without, but I'm not really good without step by step directions. I really would like to make these. I work with missionaries and am always looking for lightweight things I can send them in an envelope or mailer. So glad you are feeling better. Just don't do too much too fast. You want to be well for Christmas:-)
