What a wonderful teacher you are to your students. Not only teaching them, but taking the time to learn about their interests (so you can personalize). Bookmarks and books. I am sure your students will remember you for a very long time. You deserve a round of applause for the extras you are giving your students. You are very caring.

Would really love to have the pattern and tute for your bookmarks. They are beautiful.

I volunteer with my grandson's class they would be thrilled to receive these. They really enjoy little treats and surprises. I helped make Christmas pillows with them and the students were very excited .Would appreciate any info on them.

Yours are just beautiful. Your students are very very fortunate to have a caring teacher.

Thank you, Lois

It's not two beads each like last year, and I had to use ones that had bigger holes, but I wasn't going to do it twice to each one. I love my students, but....

Background: students let me know their favorites: sports, season, animal. (without knowing why).. and I try my hardest to work that into their bookmark--front and back. Several this year just said "winter" so that was easy. I had to buy hockey, basketball, and football. I had lots of baseball and soccer, but those aren't popular this year.  I always have many dog/cat/horse fabrics. Last year was big on penguins, and many mentioned them this year; I knew I was covered. I've already restocked for the most popular topics--figured if I was ordering hockey stuff, I might as well add more. :-D

I've been quite sick, so this has been a nice quiet activity for me to feel I'm accomplishing something! :|

Would you be willing to share how you made these? I would love to make some. Thank you very much. Those are soooooooooo cool.

Well...a tute would take some time I just don't have... but I know I described how they are made in this post somewhere... I'll go find it and copy it here. They are quite easy, so I don't think you'd need a tute.

Page 4--here you go "The bookmarks have just muslin in the middle. I make a 9" square of muslin, sew strips onto them (on a diagonal), and trim them up to 9" squares. Then I cut that into 3" strips and that's three bookmark tops. I cut 3" by 9" pieces for the back, put right sides together, and sew around using about a 1/8" seam. Then I Steam-A-Seam the opening closed. Then I add the grommets--just the small size--and tassels and beads. There's nothing complicated at all!!"
