Beautiful DRW, I love the look of applique and hand quilting and yours looks lovely. Your daughter has a treasure. :)

This is my most difficult and rewarding quilt. The cutting alone took 4 days. The piecing took about a month's work. The pattern is called Eldon and it is all Y seams. It was started as a project at a quilt retreat. I don't think I would have ever picked it up on my own, but I just love it. I have used the star block many time since. It makes a beautiful table topper.

I have nothing in the "stunning" category but those posted so far are really beautiful.

I posted this in December. It's a paper pieced, Judy Neimeyer pattern called Winter Wonderland. It's my pride and joy right now. Each snowflake alone has 144 pieces (Yes...I counted them!).

This is beautiful. And yes the double wedding ring can be challenging. I just finished one that I had been working on for a year. But worth every minute.

This will be my most impressive quilt but is still in progress. The king size top is pieced and appliqued and I am in the process of quilting it now.

My most stunning and favorite quilt has to be my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, called Sylvia & Louise. I made it in the year after my mother, Louise, passed away. It was definitely my therapy and got me through that tough time. It's held together with thread and tears and there is love in every stitch. Miss you, Mom!

My "current" favorite is what I call Rodanthe Rainbow, and is stunning in my mind because of the colors and the quilting. The pattern is very simple, and actual sewing time was probably a couple of weeks, but it took me about 6 months to finish the piecing. Add another 3 months to debate and execute the quilting. A link to detailed pictures is at http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t201997.html. See overall picture and rough directions on the creation of this fun quilt!

Here is my lovely "Venetian Solitaire". this took about 6 months to piece, and more than a few years to simply gather all the different fabrics. The cutting was the crucial and time consuming part. Each triangle of each card had to be fussy cut.
|
Oh my, such beautiful quilts. I had such fun scrolling through this thread looking at all the beautiful quilts. Many talented quilters on this board.
|
It might have been a pain to make, but it is beautiful!
|
Wow, love this thread!!!
|
All are beautiful! I don't think I have one I would call "stunning" -- at least not yet. LOL!
|
Just want to add that everyone's quilts are STUNNING! Beautiful work.

This is my favorite quilt I have made so far. It is Carol Doaks 50 paper pieced stars. I did it with a group on here. I am just finishing up the binding now. There are over 3000 pieces in it. I worked on it for a year. Wow there are some really gorgeous quilts here.
|
Oh my, these are awesome. Wow!!!!!
|
All I can say is Wow!
|
Beautiful quilt. (Double Wedding Ring) I don't think I would consider it quick or easy though. It would probably take me the rest of my life to finish one. lol
|
Your 50 paper-pieced stars quilt is gorgeous!

Whether or not these are "stunning" is for others to decide. They are, however, my personal favorites. The green nd black one is my avatar. I bought the fabric in June at the Keepsake Quilting tent sale and the quilt was done and ready to enter in the Vermont Quilt festival the following June. It is self designed and was certainly taxing of my abilities. the Black and orange quilt started with a Carol Doak paper pieced mariner's star in the center and then grew into its final design step by step, designed by me. Again, taxing of my basic abilities. I think that's why they are my favorites - they were challenging.

Kudo's to you all! Your quilts are gorgeous!

I would have to say both of these would be a couple of my biggest accomplishments. The baby quilt because it was my first time doing dresdens and diamonds. I didn't have a pattern just figured as I went and the center was cross-stitched. The cat quilt because it was all paper-pieced and again, no pattern just put it all together as I went.
|
Wow!!! These quilts have left me speechless. Some very talented ladies on this site. The quilts are stunning to say the least of it!!! Beautiful. Very nice work!!!

My avatar is my crown jewel. I made it for my DD's wedding gift, and it took me approx 6 months. I named it "Color My World". The original pattern used floral fabrics for the centers, but I chose to do each circle(New York Beauty) block in a different colorway. It is entirely paper pieced, pattern is called "Sisterscape" by Valori Wells. My favorite section of the quilt was the salmon at the bottom! Pictures are prequilting.
**Sorry - pictures would not upload*** :( |
JenniePenny, I saw this quilt when you first posted it and it is on my bucket list! I have started collecting fabrics and judging by what I have collected so far it will be brighter, in your face, colors! I look at your picture often.
All of the quilts here are so awesome, each in their own way. I see the talent here and just think of all the talent we never see. :) Keep em coming! |
