I think the a child would see a bear and bright colors. That's all that matters to little ones. There is an organization called newborns in need that would gladly accept your beautiful quilt. Newbornsinneed.org

The border was fun to do. I've never made one like this before--is it called piano key?

Sigh...I'll put it away and finish it in a few years for a grandchild. It can be a picnic quilt.

Next time sew along the outside edge of the ABC's and it will turn out right. Sometimes the panels just have to squared up.
Maybe I'll make more bookmarks for the library.

I think if you took off the abc border it would be fine then..Or donate to another cause as they really won't notice it

Oh my gosh! It's adorable. Please finish it as you planned. Any recipient would love it.

On the second panel, you might try spraying it with a little water and blocking it before trying to square it up. i have had many successes doing that.

Cut off outer border (love the piano keys), cut off abc's replace w/ solid border, then re-add piano keys. Problem solved.

I like it just the way it is. It looks perfect for the children's section. They will never notice that it is not square. The adults can play I-spy with their kids. The partial letters are a great way for beginning readers to fill out the letter in their minds. This is a great game quilt. Take it from a retired Kindergarten teacher.:)

Thank you!!! I totally get what you're saying. They could even use their finger to draw the rest of the letter. :-D I taught kindergarten too--but not for long. I've been in 5th grade for 9 years now.

Karla, what lucky children to have such a caring, understanding person for their teacher.
