Sun-Burnt Lonestar
2 Attachment(s)
I completed a very cheery Lonestar quilt the other day. I just love it. This is my second Lonestar (the first was much larger) and I made it a wall hanging size.
I took it to work and hung it on my wall above my desk. It was the perfect day for it too as we just got dumped with about 8 inches of snow and everyone was feeling the cold...it just brightened the place up. I'm very pleased with the effect of the striping in the centre star...looks a bit spiral-y. Thanks for looking! |
oooooooohh how nice, YukViv!!
Your centre stripe is nice, just as the outer wavy gold/brown/rust is ... gives the sun ray effect. Perfect colours/frabrics. And so nice you can have it at work for you and others to enjoy it's warmth year round, and especially amidst your latest snow dump! (BTW I have the final BCS Clue!) |
Bright & beautiful! I love it!

that is sure beautiful, and bet you live in a beautiful place. We do also (Crescent City, CA) but it is a 'different beauty' then where you are. Thanks for sharing the wonderful job you did on the star.

Love the colors and all the geometric fabrics. Good job!

Absolutely beautiful.

I too love the spiral effect your stripe in the center created. You did a great job with all of your fabric selections on this. I would have been afraid to try what you did but it works so well I am tempted to do another lonestar myself with selections like you have used. They are modern and vibrant and really add motion to your star. Great job!!

Very pretty lone star. That's too bad you are getting snow, as it is spring.

Well Lady this is one AWESOME Star. The fabric you used goes together so well and the effect it leaves is just great. Would love to see the first Lone Star you did. I have been wanting to make one but life has gotten in the way. Did you PP this? Was it hard? Might have to get back to you for help when I make mine. Can't say enough about how much I like this. Thank you so much for sharing. Bet the folks at the office love it also. BrendaK

Pretty! Reminds me of last summer, here in TX!
|
You have taken fabrics that I would probably never think of buying and created a marvelous quilt! You have made the fabrics work for you in a spendid way. Fabulous!
|
Now thats just beautiful! The colors are great.
|
I love the quilting on it. Doesn't overwhelm the design
|
What a great way to bring sunshine into the office - Its beautiful and I love the center.
|
That is beautiful!
|
What great fabrics you chose. It looks great.
|
Thank you everyone!!! Your comments really made me smile. To tell you the truth, I was a bit afraid when I took it to work and when I posted the pics that people would look at the fabric and go ???? what ugly fabric LOL. It started out as just an experiment, more just to reinforce the technique of making the Lonestar so I would have it in my head. I'm just pleased it turned out!

It is so pretty! Very bright and cheerful. Sorry about the snow storm. By the end of the winter I am normally sick of the snow. (which I love in beginning of the winter-lol). Enhoy your Lone Star.
