After a long time, I finally finished it and I am pleased as punch. The only thing missing is a sleeve so I can hang her up. Here is the list of blocks:
Row 1: Calamity Sue - Roadkill Sue* - Soudini (drowned in the dunk tank) - Voodoo Sue Row 2: Kudzu (magic act gone wrong) - Pachyderm Poo Sue* - BBQ Sue on the Spit - Hell’s Angel Sue* Row 3: Stew Pot Sue - Eagle Fodder Sue - Hotflash Sue* - Frankensue Row 4: Reptilian Squeeze - Sue’s Web - Divine PMS - Hoochie Sue* Row 5: SueShi - Sue meets the Birds - Alien Abduction - Sue meets the Sioux on her way to the Loo, Blocks marked with * were created by dear friends in a swap. |
What a wonderful and twisted sense of humor you have... thanks for sharing. Your detail in the blocks is frightening and amazing.
Well, now I see why you have your name, Mad Quilter!! ROFL This is amazing. To whom will the quilt go?

I think your Sues are delightful!
your quilt is hysterical!!! Love all the different Sue's you came up with. So much to look at. I love it all.
I am glad you finished it. I have been wondering if you did. It is a wonderful quilt. I remember all the drama that went on when you first showed them on here. Have a great day, and thanks for sharing.
That is toooo cute!!! Great job, and thanks for sharing.
I'm so glad we are getting to see the finished quilt. I love it and love your warped sense of humor. It's great!
too is really a neat sue quilt!!
quite interesting
It reminds me of the "Mr. Bill" skits of SNL years ago. "Oh Nooooooooooooo!".
Very creative and different. I like the quilt, the colors and details. Great job
Love it....especially BBQ Sue on the spit...hilarious!!
I remember when you were starting the quilt! Love seeing the quilt completed. Thx.
When I watched the play "The Quilters" years ago, there was a scene where the younger sister, mad at her older sister for quilting so many Sun Bonnet Sues, and at having to quilt at all, made one of these for that older sister. It was hysterical in the play. The quilt wasn't shown, but the scream from the older sister when she saw it was quite clear. LOL

OK - you and your friends are nuttier than fruitcakes and I love every one of you and your blocks! Especially Pachyderm Poo Sue ...

this is hysterical! I'm doing Sunbonnet Sue's with a group in my guild--we each have a month and I want them to be fun instead of traditional--so I'm meeting them half way--my August is going to be at the swimming hole with an inner tube--IF I can pull it off!

So worth all the previous hassle-ing, it's adorable! How fun you are to hang it in your living room, you must have great friends!
Not only are you mad (as in crazy), but some of your friends need help too! Love the quilt.
So happy you posted..and here I am making a traditional one
that I was given the pieces . Laughed a lot when I first saw this take off on Sue. Great job. Surely a blue ribbon winner . |
Love the quilt ~ so wonderfully created. I would like to meet you someday because I love quirky people. It must be wonderfully fun in your house.
Clever clever -- or should that be Cleaver?
Dang girl! You and me need to hang out!!!
I really like it, it reminds me of Edward Gorey's Gashlycrumb Tinies. |
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this concept. These are clever, funny and more than a little irreverent. Apologies to the lovers of the original Sunbonnet Sue. Wonderful quilt and so glad you posted it and I happened on it today!
In your living room! Now I am truly amazed.

I took her to the guild for sew and show and here is the story I told: SBS moved to a town house and it came with cable. Once she started watching, the nightmares just took hold. She got lots of laughs which is how it should be.
