For all of you who commented on my sense of organization. It is something I learned while doing woodworking. There is a place for everything and it takes far less time to keep it neat and tidy than to chase around turning everything over looking for that "lost" item. When I am working on a quilt I do get a bit messier but I clean up a bit before I knock off for lunch, and then I clean and vacuum and clean up at the end of the day. Nothing is worse than coming into a room that is torn up and trying to get going. I think of the cleaning as part of the quilting process. I should get a picture of our stove, and post it with all the copper cookware that I clean and shine up so it is presentable. We use it every day.

Absolutely rational from where I'm sitting.

It reminds me of an apothecary's chest, always wanted one of those but never came across one. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=apothecary's+chest&hl=en&rlz=1T4SKPT_enGB436GB436&prmd=ivns& tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=CsJlTuzKHsS58gP j0vCjCg&ved=0CDoQsAQ&biw=1920&bih=963

When I do, I know what to use it for so thanks from one totally rational person to another. :D

No. I am not related. I sometimes catch Norm turning out stuff. I kind of laugh that he uses about $50,000 worth of power machinery to turn out some very nice things. But my critique is that they are put together with modern assembly methods, and not the traditional assembly methods, in some instances. There is nothing wrong with the way he does it, but I like making all those cuts and fittings with hand tools, and lots of skill. It is just a personal thing with me. I probably am the only one who would know the difference.

I grew up in a scissor family. My Father was the West coast Sales Representative for J.Wiss & Sons. Scissors and Shears. Some of the best scissors ever made in America. When he passed away, I acquired a large batch of them of various types and they were spread around between my four siblings and myself. The Wiss Company no longer is family owned and the scissors are now made offshore. Sad, that a 150 year old company could not stay in business, but that is the nature of our manufacturing capability today.
