Is this too wild or what?

I picked out these wild fabrics to make a quuilt with. My first thought was to make a double Irish Chain. Then I thought, hummmm maybe a Disappearing 9 patch. First off, I'd like you comments on the fabric choices. Is it going to be too much? Or too wild? And, which would you choose? A D9P or DIC?:D

It will certainly be a lively quilt. I have a personal preference for an Irish Chain! So I will vote IC!

Anniedeb 06-08-2013 08:57 PM

Love the colors...not too much at all!

SheriR 06-08-2013 09:06 PM

LOVE the fabrics. Either pattern will be fabulous my personal fav is D9P. Super easy too. (I've never done IC.)

Halo 06-08-2013 09:22 PM

I vote D9P. These fabrics will make a beautiful D9P even though I hate green but love orange. It will still be beautiful.

mom-6 06-08-2013 10:07 PM

I think your lovely fabric will be set off best by doing a large D9P with the print as the corners, the lime green as the "arms" and the bright orange spice as the center.

I would audition sizes of squares to get the best effect of the print.

earthwalker 06-08-2013 10:08 PM

Beautiful fabric....I'd do the D9P..keep us posted.

kathdavis 06-08-2013 10:42 PM

Love the colors! Can't wait to see it done. I'm voting for the D9P.

I like the colors, it will be great.

Phannie1 06-09-2013 03:01 AM

I love the colors. Irish Chain would be great.

nabobw 06-09-2013 03:46 AM

pretty fabric

Jackie Spencer 06-09-2013 04:30 AM

Love your color choices!! I vote for the Double Irish Chain, I have made several of them, just love that pattern!!

DebraK 06-09-2013 04:34 AM

they all match perfectly. Either pattern will look nice.

BrendaK 06-09-2013 04:36 AM

Whatever you do this will be the koolest quilt. Love the fabrics. These colors are not my favorites but together they sparkle and will be great. Can't wait to see the finished product. BrendaK

Love the fabrics - I vote for the Irish Chain to show of the compliment

sewmerry 06-09-2013 04:56 AM

I vote for Irish Cain. Lovely colors. Please post pics when done?

gabeway 06-09-2013 05:22 AM

Make great Irish chain.

justflyingin 06-09-2013 05:24 AM

I don't think they are too wild. Either pattern would be great--which ever you prefer. I personally prefer the DIC, but don't know which would work best with these fabrics.

I'm finding as I'm growing older that I actually prefer the wilder/darker colors! :)

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 06-09-2013 05:27 AM

I am not a good person to ask because I like BRIGHT! I love the fabric and thing it would make a wonderful quilt in either pattern. I'd vote Irish Chain because I like the look of very traditional patterns mixed with modern fabric and I think this would fit that well.

ube quilting 06-09-2013 05:31 AM

I love the fabrics and IMHO, I like the IC. Done in these fantastic colors would be awesome. DP9 is a safe 'in the box' type of quilt and these fabrics certainly are not 'in the box'.

Picture this quilt as an accent piece in a contemporary white room! WOW!
peace

Diane007 06-09-2013 05:36 AM

Go for it.......

Karenjane 06-09-2013 05:52 AM

Those fabrics are fabulous, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. I think I'd go with D9P, you might even consider a DoubleD9P.

Tweety2911 06-09-2013 05:58 AM

Ooooh they are so pretty!! Either one would look great. If doing a DIC I think I would add white. I look forward to seeing what you decide!!

pocoellie 06-09-2013 06:10 AM

I love it!!!

lfstamper 06-09-2013 06:11 AM

Love the colors and either pattern would work!

katesnanna 06-09-2013 06:27 AM

Fantastic colors!

bearisgray 06-09-2013 06:42 AM

I like those three fabrics together.

QuiltNama 06-09-2013 06:50 AM

Irish Chain would be beautiful

sewbizgirl 06-09-2013 07:27 AM

These are pretty together. If you are worried about it being too wild, you can always tone it down by adding white as a background color. Maybe white center blocks with your three fabrics done as a triple Irish chain? You could freehand quilt a design in orange or green thread on the white blocks. Just an idea... I'm sure what ever you come up with will be pretty.

willferg 06-09-2013 07:30 AM

I agree with others, the colors are great but I'd probably throw in a little white to make it pop!

DebbE 06-09-2013 07:57 AM

D9P, with colors done as Mom-6 indicated -- it would be gorgeous!

pac 06-09-2013 08:11 AM

The colors are GREAT What not an Split Rail?

pac 06-09-2013 08:14 AM

Why not a "Split Rail" Colors are great!

sak658 06-09-2013 08:33 AM

Wild but beautiful, Leesa...anything you do is so pretty...go for it....can't wait to see it finished...everyone needs to go wild sometimes...lol

alikat110 06-09-2013 09:07 AM

LOVE the fabrics.....

0tis 06-09-2013 09:19 AM

I think it would look great as a double Irish chain. Love the bright colors.

feline fanatic 06-09-2013 09:46 AM

Do you know anyone that has EQ to do a mock up for you? Love the fabrics but I am the worst at envisioning what they would look like in either pattern.

2blackcats 06-09-2013 09:56 AM

I love both patterns, but think the D0P would be great with these colors, which are great!

nannyrick 06-09-2013 10:03 AM

Love the colors. I vote for the DP9.

faykilgore 06-09-2013 10:14 AM

Personally, I would add a little cream, but the fabrics are gorgeous!
