That is GORGEOUS!

The TIC is so soothing and relaxing...almost elegant. Very nice, Karla.

The Kayak turned out wonderful. Such lovely colors.

Can't wait to see the finished products.

Ducky 01-13-2010 08:41 AM

The Triple Irish Chain is just stunning. I really want to tackle one, but the thought of matching that many seams gives me the shivers. You did such a beautiful job on that. Tell me, did you match seams and hope for the best or pin each and every one?

I could never get tired looking at the kayaking quilt. It's totally amazing to me.

joeyoz 01-13-2010 08:43 AM

It's beautiful. :D :D :D

paintedquilt 01-13-2010 08:47 AM

Please make one for me ;-)

I pinned each and everyone. It's not perfect--but good enough!

You are all so kind to reply.

I think they are both awesome. Triple Irish has been on my list of quilts to make for a long time. I really like how soothing this quilt looks.

That is pretty and I love your colors!

gaigai 01-13-2010 05:54 PM

Karla, what is the name of the focus fabric? Who is it by? Once I get some of my other financial obligations out of the way :P :P  I may have to look for some!

Oops, I just found it! By Red Rooster!!!

Mousie 01-13-2010 06:08 PM

that's a blue and an irish chain lovers dream. I love the backing fabric too. :D

I just went back to see the kayaking quilt again.
scrumptious!

barnbum 01-13-2010 06:10 PM

gaigai--yes! It's called "Whispers" but it comes in different hues. I have another one--more turquoise--but I like this one the best.

Get some!! (Well, after your other financial issues are out of the way, of course. )

Oh--and to the reply about colors--my favorite color was blue for years, but in the past few years it switched to green. I can't keep away from them.

OH!! The quilter will put some big leaves on this one--without the veins so it's not too stiff. I like space between the quilting. Thread color is a light green--it's called sea green. The Kayaking quilt will be done in unsymmetrical swirls--hard to describe. Thread is green crystal.

bluebird 01-13-2010 06:38 PM

Wish I had your eye for color  Both quilts are wonderful, great job. :-D

Janstar 01-13-2010 07:11 PM

Marcia 01-13-2010 07:47 PM

Two stunning masterpieces!!! I love them both and cannot wait to see them quilted. I am so glad that you are keeping the TIC for yourself. Mark has his CW quilt and now this one can be all yours!!!! You deserve it!

Sheila Elaine 01-13-2010 07:49 PM

Wow! I like the soft spring colors & the Irish chain is one of my favorites.

But, but, this will be my third lap top for me..third! There's another soothing one, then Sunny Day. Walk Through the Park may go to my son and his fiancé', the Black and White Splash will be saved for grandchildren, Kayak goes to my daughter. So many quilts!! :-D I need to stop making them! Nah. I will be making doll blankets and baby quilts for a while now. They sell well.

Moncia 01-14-2010 02:41 AM

Gorgeous! The colors are so soft and relaxing, and I love your backing fabric. Lap quilts are great, but I think bigger is better--I lilke it to cover me from my neck to my toes!
