Oh how beautiful. Irish chains are one of my favorites and I love the color way you used. If it should need a good home I humbly volunteer.

Gorgeous!!!!
I love the colors of the Irish Chain!! So calming! |
Here's the info on the Kayak pattern: The pattern is called "Shadows on the Pond" and it's in McCall's Quilting August 2009.
|
GORGEOUS !!!! I have been wanting to do this pattern. nYou have inspired me. Thanks.
|
Karla that is sooooo purrrrty. I always love your quilts.

Beautiful work as always! I think that quilt deserves the title "Serenity"!!
|
Good idea, Mamagus! I have a "tranquilty" already, so I named this one "meadow whispers."

Your quilt is beautiful! Very peaceful, calming fabric/color choices. I have not yet made one in this pattern. Was it difficult?
|
Not difficult--trying. It required 30 pins per square of squares and 30 pins to get the rows together. I did get tired of it, so I started a log cabin to switch to--requires no pinning.
It's vital to nail that 1/4" seam. I never would have been able to pull this off with my old machine--where it was marked with a magnet. |
LOL!! I will give it a try, then. But, I will go to the store and buy more pins! I shy away from using them for most things. The results are stunning, as you have proven, and make it worth giving it a try. Thanks for the tip.
|
Sorry, I missed the second quilt but glad I came back to look. They are both outstanding!!http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-gen148.gif
