Finished tonight! Man, borders always take more time than I expect! It's 9:50 and the backing fabric is now going into the dryer. Just in case my quilter could see us tomorrow, I want to be ready. I'm taking the Kayaking on the Lake top to her too and since that's my daughter's and she's home one more day--she could go tomorrow to talk to Jill about the quilting.
Anyway... here it is. I wanted a lap quilt, but it ended up 60 x 80. That's okay. This one's a keeper. :-D I love love love the fabrics and colors in here. Photos are showing a bit darker than it truly is. It's so calming and comforting. My daughter was with me when I picked the back. She said "I never thought you'd pick that, Mom!" But, it fit--delicate and calming. There are many squares left to make two baby quilts to sell. Wellll, I may keep one for a grandbaby--whenever one shows up. the back |

Oh Karla, I Love that quilt too. I especially love the middle print fabric. You have such a great eye for color combinations. I wish I had that talent, but I really don't. I love it. I think it's my second favorite after you-know-which. ;-)

|
It's beautiful!
I love the colors and the backing is awesome! |
One of my favorite patterns...the colors are very soothing and soft. Although I lean toward more dramatic colors I always appreciate a well executed quilt in calm colors...thanks for sharing it!

BAM BAM two beautiful quilts! I so love the Irish chain pattern...one of my favs and your colors are so restful! Great job.

I love it! No wonder you want this one to be a keeper! I would too. Please show us after it's quilted too!
|
Both are Beautiful.

very very nice
|
Thanks, everyone!! I love this one so much, it's what made me decide to sell the watercolor floral. There's something about that main fabric--it's called "Whispers." This quilt required soooo soooo much pinning. I started another log cabin to work on in-between just to keep sane.
We're headed to the quilter's tonight!! Rach is sketching what she'd like quilting on the Kayak one--something that represents ripples in the water from the paddles. :-D All I have to do is iron the back for the TIC--so I must get out to get chores done so I can do that before school! I will of course post when it's been quilted. I can't wait to choose a pattern. Thread color will be the same as the watercolor floral had--a cream. |
Wow, they are BEAUTIFUL!
|
That is a beautiful quilt, both of them.
I want to make a triple irish chain too, someday. My friend made one in a "colorwash" pattern. I think that is the word. |
Beautiful quilt.. I might have to put that on my "quilts I want to make" list.. you done a fabulous job!
|
They are both beautiful. You did a fantastic job. I like the TIChain. I've made 2 of them. I think it's a nice pattern for a baby quilt....go for it.
|
They're both very lovely!
|
Both quilts are marvelous!
|
The TIC is so soft and pretty. And I love the sound of the planned quilting on Kayaking - can't wait to see it done - bet you can't either! :-D
