Really LOVE your Irish Chain. The colors are so very soothing. I would like to do one, but at this point, I'm sick of matching seams, so it may need to wait awhile. BTW, all the seams I could see look fabulous! If you like this better than the log cabin, I know I could give the log cabin a very good, loving home!

Very pretty. I am usually drawn to vibrant "in your face" colors or rich earth tones. I rarely consider pastels or muted shades unless it is for background or blenders but you have made me rethink my preferences
I found myself mesmerized by the pictures of your irish chain and really liking the subtle colors of it. And yes, that fabric you used as your focal really is pretty. I'm going to have to get out to the finger lakes again some day so I can scope out your favorite Mennonite shop. A few years ago I was at a rally in Geneva and there was this huge flea market nearby that was a blast. Tons of Amish and Mennonite vendors and many stalls with sewing machines (those must have been the mennonites  )and quilters. If I wasn't with a bunch of bikers who find fabric and quilting boring and only allow me the briefest of pauses amongst things like this I could've spent hours browsing those vendors. Are you near Geneva and do you know what flea market I am talking about? It seemed like a pretty permanent set up with loads of buildings, kind of like a fair. I think it was actually in a town outside Geneva but I don't remember the name. :? |
Those fabrics are awesome..what a beautiful restful quilt..just what you need after a hard day in the big world..

feline--I bet you're thinking of The Windmill!! It's outside Penn Yan--close to Geneva--kind of--about 15 min away. It's only open on Saturdays...but there's not a lot of fabric there--but so much to see!!
Thanks for all the kind thoughts, everyone! |
Very pretty, love the soft colors.
