It's been years since I've made a quilt with so few fabrics, and I love the simplicity of the look. I love not having to think about what color to add next. I LOVE these fabrics. The center--called Whispers, was one I saw in my favorite Mennonite shop and for two trips didn't get it because I didn't know what I'd do with it. I finally bought it, along with two coordinating Moda marbles, and searched for a pattern where it wouldn't be cut up too much. There are very few color choices to match, so I decided between a double or triple; Kennedy said a double would be too boring  so a third color was needed. We found a perfect light to use at the same shop.

This is 20 out of a needed 60 some squares... but now I'm headed back to Kayaking on the Lake... :D

Very peaceful and soothing!
I know!! I almost needed a nap while working with the fabrics! :D

I was ecstatic the seams lined up so nicely... every intersection was pinned and it paid off.

Thanks for the warning, Terri! I'll hide it. To be honest--I think I like this one better than the watercolor floral log cabin! Maybe I'll sell that one--keep this one.

I at least read the directions today, at least that is the first step....
That's always where I start--and reread and reread...

I love your soft and sweetness of this quilt. You ahve done a wonderful job on it.

It is a nice quilt pattern and fairly easy to do. (compared to what you have done recently, that is) It is going to be a nice summer quilt.

SuzzyQ 08-24-2009 08:59 AM

So lovely ..That settles it! One of my next quilts is going to be a triple chain - hopefully I can do half as wonderful a job.
