It's a lovely quilt and anyone who likes purple will love it. In fact, most people would be delighted! If you sense she'd want the purple toned down a bit, perhaps you could machine applique some flowers and / or leaves with lots of green or something that would compliment the purples. To be sure, that's a good bit of extra work but if they were raw edged fused then stitched, the stitching would become part of the quilting.
