I would use the black with the red in it, it seems to make the blocks pop.

Thats what I would do !

I like the red and the floral for a border.

gramabear 04-01-2011 12:44 PM

I like the print best. :D

Stitchit123 04-01-2011 01:08 PM

Stripes for sash --print for border --I think the red in your blocks is all thats needed I love the R/W/B combo quilts they always catch my eye

JoanneS 04-01-2011 01:23 PM

I like to use the same fabric for sashing and first border - if I have enough! My choice is the black stripe. I'd think about putting a tiny fold of red inside the OUTSIDE border as a nice highlight.

Ditto

laughingquilter 04-01-2011 01:49 PM

I love the stripe!

Jabear617 04-01-2011 01:50 PM

I like the first one. The flowers:)

Lee Benedict 04-01-2011 02:19 PM

I love your blocks--great job. Like the strip as sashing

debcavan 04-01-2011 02:28 PM

Agreed. That is a sharp block especially in the black white and red. I think the red sashing detracts from your block

DoxieMom 04-01-2011 02:48 PM

Roses as sashing and then the red as borders. The blocks are very nice!

The stripe would be my choice. I love the look that a stripe gives a quilt.

Lori L 04-01-2011 02:51 PM

I like the visual effect the striped fabric provides.

I agree about the stripe, that said, I like the red. OOOOOh, I made a rhyme

Charity Quilter 04-01-2011 02:54 PM

I like the rose strip and by the way your blocks are very nice~!

quiltpd 04-01-2011 02:58 PM

I agree with erstan947.Stripe, narrow red, finally the floral. Stunning.

Me, too.

NCquilter 04-01-2011 03:24 PM

I like the red fabric for sashing.

desertrose 04-01-2011 03:53 PM

It would be 1 if I wanted the effect to be soft and femanine and 3 if I wanted the blocks to pop. The black stripe doesn't do anything for me.

I like this one. Maybe cut the stripe for the binding on the bias.

sammy89 04-01-2011 04:18 PM

first one

Anne T 04-01-2011 04:19 PM

Definately like the black/white strip the best. Solid red next.

Yep...this would be my choice. Oh, I would bind in red....

I agree with all of the above! Please post when you have finished so we can ooooo!

IDquilter 04-01-2011 04:51 PM

Personally I like the floral and then the stripe, but if you use the stripe make sure they are straight, if not it will look wonky. Whatever you choose I can't wait to see the finished project. Love the blocks and fabric choice.

Elliotsgreatgrandma 04-01-2011 05:23 PM

I agree.

KiwiQuilter 04-01-2011 05:38 PM

I think the red for sashing and the print for the border.

BobbiG 04-01-2011 05:45 PM

I like the print

BobbiG 04-01-2011 05:45 PM

lol, i was thinking just the opposite.. with mitered corners in the border..

of course, i just FINALLY figured out how to get them to come out right & think i need them on everything...

K.P. 04-01-2011 06:18 PM

I agree with happyscrappy, the red just makes the block pop, brings out the red in the block; the others are not bad, but the red is the best.

Maia B 04-01-2011 06:39 PM

Definitely not the red. Maybe use that for a thin border next to a wider border of the floral print. Either the stripe or another B&W fabric.

CarrieAnne 04-01-2011 06:42 PM

I like the Roses!

Lv2sew2011 04-01-2011 06:44 PM

Thanks everyone for your input, and I've decided will be black stripe sashing, with large boarder with the flower print and then using the red for binding...

1screech 04-01-2011 08:28 PM

I like the stripes for sashing, the red for a framing border and the print for the border.

Lady Shivesa 04-01-2011 08:34 PM

Oooh...I like the black with stripes. :)
