I have a hard time with scrappy, too. I have a friend who makes beautiful scrappy quilts, but it seems that when I try . . . well, they just don't look as good. Maybe what you need to do is make it a more organized scrappy top.

First, take the 2nd block in the top row and turn it so that the floral triangle is in the center. Then make another block like that one and switch it with the 1st block in the 2nd row. You'll end up with four blocks that look more "planned" than scrappy.

Do the same thing with the rest of the blocks. Move your current blocks around so that you have three of each that match. Put them together; make a fourth block that matches each set of three and see if you start liking them a little bit better.

You might want to try it with just two or three sets to begin with - that way, if you still can't make yourself like it, you're not out a lot.

It is soooo hard to finish something you aren't into. "It will be pretty when it's done. But if you truly don't like it - at least finish enough blocks to make the quilt. Offer the blocks here for the cost of time and material and done! Move on a get something new to work on...

I really like it and think you'll like it better after you piece it together. Here is one I am working on so you can get a better idea of what it will look like. (hope this posts)

I think it's very pretty. You could always put it away for a while and pull it out later. I've found that my tastes have changed over time and some things I didn't really like are appealing to me now.

I like it, but it's your quilt, so you are the person who needs to like it. Perhaps you would like it better if each fabric set were its own block.

If you set it aside for a bit and still don't like it, you could use it for backing another quilt.

Very cute prints! Maybe play with the blocks a bit trying different arrangements. Would arranging them in groups of four and putting sashing between the groups organize it more for you? If you still don't like it, finish it quickly and give it to charity! Good luck!

I would love to see it finished as well. I think you're off to a great start but I do understand about difficult it is to finish something you don't like. Maybe walk away from it for a while? then see what you think?

I think this is very pretty---don't give up on it. But I do understand that we don't all like to do the same thing.
