Ok...So, someone posted something about the Twister Tool leaving too much waste. Keep in mind, I just made a quilt top using the LARGE Twister Tool.
This is what I came up with for the scrap so far. I cut the leftover squares down to 4 1/4" square. I put them right sides together and sewed 1/4" seam around the entire block. Then, I cut the diagonal both ways, and ended up with 4 HST, per set of 4 1/4" blocks. I played with the HSTs I made, and came up with this block. I'm working on using the rest of the scrap to put it into a runner. I'm going to have to change what I have, but at least it's an idea. :) Close Up of Block Working on Setting for a Runner |

Thanks so much, Dawn...bookmarking this! Haven't made a Twister yet but it is on the ever-growing 'to do' list :)

I know that you cut carefully, you can take the smaller twister tool and cut the scraps and make a smaller version of the larger quilt you made. It is probably better to draw, then cut when you do that.
|
I will be bookmarking this also, because I was the one to question the waste, and such a great way to make use of it.
|
Great job!
|
Wow!!! That is great.

Very inventive and a really pretty design. That's what's great about this board....someone raises a question and someone else comes up with a brilliant solution.

Very pretty :)
I also used up my scraps from the twister I made and ya know what? At the end there was very little waste so I was pleased :) They made great squares with very little waste. I love what you're doing with the runner :) |
I really like what you have done with the scraps. You have created a brand new project that could be made to go along with your original quilt on a dresser.
|
Awesome, well I saved mine back to do something with, now I know what!
