Beautiful dresses - and they look great on you!

try invisable zipper but make sure you have an invisable zipper foot bought seperate from your machine. Usually a few come in a package so you get a correct one for your machine. They are plastic pieces and make a world of difference!

Your dresses are cute, very stylish and look teriffic on you. I especially like the large floral for a sundress. What else really caught my eye was that red quilt in the background. It looks like a showstopper.

The Quiet Quilter 05-31-2011 06:15 PM

Beautiful!! You, and the
dresses. I used to sew
for myself, my daughters,
and my granddaughters.
Now I'd rather quilt in
my "old age". LOL
Hugs, Sharon

They are adorable! I've wanted to venture into a little clothing, especially with all the cute cotton fabrics..but think I might need some help....maybe if I started with a simple top..

HeatherS 05-31-2011 06:31 PM

You're looking pretty cool. They both look just the shot for those hot days ahead. Well done.

ButtermilkMama 05-31-2011 06:31 PM

Back when I had a very nice figure, I loved to sew dresses for my DD and myself, but not anymore. Have to make too many changes to the pattern!! Ha!

joyce888 05-31-2011 06:43 PM

Both dresses are so cute and they look really good on you! I used to make all of mine and my daughters clothes - it's a lot of fun!

dgrindey 05-31-2011 07:08 PM

Great dresses. Love the fabric and color choices. Good Job

Nini61948 05-31-2011 08:04 PM

 They are lovely! I like them both and you will be a zipper wizard in no time!

DonnaB 05-31-2011 08:28 PM

Beautiful outfits, you look very nice in them, and they don't look "homemade"

AngieS 05-31-2011 08:31 PM

Those are both great! I would love to be able to sew clothes. To me they are so intimidating!! You are doing such a great job. Keep it up and you'll have a whole wordrobe of clothes you made yourself.

Harmony 05-31-2011 09:33 PM

These are both so cute!

What I like about quilting that I DON'T like about garment sewing is that they don't have to fit!

My time 05-31-2011 09:36 PM

These look great but I think you'd make a burlap sack look good. Good job!

Fun dresses!

Cute! Cute! Love cotton but DO NOT like to iron. Sad when poly/cotton went away. My Mom loves to iron but can't anymore. When I was growing up she would stand & iron a doz. for couple $.
to have xtra $ (sound familiar in these days?). White dress shirts & stiff jeans included.

Have a Blessed day

I "googled" Serendipity Patterns and found the patterns for the dresses. They are $11 each but as with most patterns, there's several variations that can be made from a pattern. Seeing those beautiful dresses makes me want to sew clothes again. However mine would have to have sleeves to cover my flabby arms. You look great and have a wonderful figure!

Looks like they also sell jacket patterns for those of us whose arms... uh... no longer seek the spotlight.
