A couple months ago I made my first dress (and first garment for that matter) and became totally hooked! I'm so excited to be using all these gorgeous quilting cotton prints for something other than just quilts. Working on a garment is a nice break when I want to sew, but not on my current quilt WIP. I need lots of improvement in some areas (can we say zippers!) but practice is what will make me more skilled.
These are my two recent dresses, both Serendipity Studios patterns (I really LOVE her patterns). Both perfect for the summer heat which is heavy upon us already (94 degrees today). My current favorite color combo, aqua and red [ATTACH=CONFIG]204403[/ATTACH] |

Both of them are very cute & you did a nice job! I sewed lots of clothes for years then transitioned into quilting- sounds like you did the opposite! I still like to make a garment now & again.

Love both, you have done really well, BUT I also like the look of your quilt in the background.........so come on we want to see that as well. :D

That is exactly what I thought! Thanks everyone for the compliments! Being able to sew garments gives me much of the same satisfaction as when I first learned to can. I can do something that's useful and neccessary. That's a great feeling. :) |
First time sewing garments???? I am so impressed. You have done a great job. I haven't heard of those patterns. I'll have to check them out.

Just checked the Serendipity site. Are your dresses the Monique. Couldn't help but notice the Claire Cami has no zipper closure. Might just have to order some patterns.

really pretty - well done very professional. emm... 94 degrees nice thought, but it has rained all fay in England UK - and boy we needed it in East Anglia. Also a good excuse to have to stay in and sew. hee hee
