Two very different spider web quilts.
2 Attachment(s)
The book Material Obsessions 2 has two spider web quilts. I made both and am in the process of quilting them. The one where the webs are emphasized is for my daughter, the one where the background is emphasized is for my son. Both are foundation piecing and used lots of my stash scraps. I like scrappy quilts.
They are both awesome! I love all the color.
I really like this! Such a wonderful layout to showcase colors! Can I save the picture in my inspiration folder?
I love Spiderweb quilts. I think both of yours are wonderful!
These are beautiful.
beautiful quilts! I never much cared for spider web quilts, but yours are so beautiful that I want to try to make one myself. Thanks for the inspiration!
love the explosion of color!
Fabulous! Love them both but for me the all scrappy one wins my heart. They are great quilts. Want to see them finished too.
EDIT: I really love when a quilt is viewed and creates interest when before there was little and in an instant a fan is born! peace |
So bright and pretty :)
Like them both - but the black background really sets off the colors and makes the patterns explode :)
Both are qreat, I love scrappies. The first one is my favorite. I'm sure your children will love them.

That first one just grabs me and makes me want to explore all the different spraps and construction. Fabulous scrappies.

Wonderful,,,both of them...
Wow! As you know, I love scrappy quilts and recently finished by first spiderweb one. Really liked seeing how you used scrap pieces in the star part. I had never thought of that. Sure gives a different look. They are both great and I thank you for sharing.

Me too. It was also the more difficult one. You need your wall board to pin and quilt as you go so the webs all match up.

Material Obsessions and Material Obsessions 2 are my all time favorite books. I have used several of the directions to make wonderful quilts. I have even used the directions to make a second quilt with different fabric. Love Love these books.

I Love your soft blue. The border adds another dimension. I did mine on fabric foundation rather than paper. It makes it kind of heavy, but it is done. Thanks for sharing yours.

Both are awesome. I think I like the wildly colorful one the best--if I had to choose. Saving your pictures for inspiration.
Love scrappy quilts. I really like each for their own style. Thanks for sharing.
I have made traditional spiderweb quilts and just learnt from Amy at Craftsy how to make the String quilt variety like you have made by a neat foundation piecing method. I LOVE it and your quilts are inspiring me more and more to make more than 1 or 2 blocks.
Thank you very much for sharing!! |
