Thanks for info on construction of hearts.......went to where Dresden is shown....but couldn't find a pic of template, just pic of dp and chatter....did Sheri mail the template to those who were in the swap? Is she still active here? Maybe she can post a pic of it now? Just my thoughts

sewbizgirl 11-05-2017 05:18 AM

That is so incredibly cute! Great use of candy squares and the little Dresden’s finish it off so sweetly.

There wasn't a picture of the template. She provided a link to a pdf that could be printed in posts 972 and 1105.

Here is a link to what SheriR taught us about making the Dresdens:

https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...274596-25.html

She shared how to do them on posts: 971, 972, 974, 975, 1105, 1106, 1107, and 1108

Jane Quilter 11-05-2017 08:13 PM

My daughter is 6"1" (dad is 6'7 1/2"). She Loves, loves giraffes. Her room is decorated safari style, with a giraffe & zebra quilt, and many giraffe items. Obviously she was a basketball/ volleyball / discus superstar. She earned a college athletic scholarship and was inducted into her high school Hall of Fame this year. I never miss a giraffe item....(I saw it in the corner of your photograph). One year, at a zoo near us, 2 giraffe babies were born, and we went to visit them the 1st week they were up and around. Mom giraffe, strolled around then went to rest in the barn and Dad giraffe babysat the youngsters in the outside play yard. It was a magnificent sight in family nurturing. The baby giraffes were born 6 ft tall, and my daughter got to pet them and look them in the eye. Sorry to blabber on, but giraffes touch my heart and memories, glad to see some one else loves them too......Jane

Thanks! :) Yes it is my pattern... I was thinking about doing a tutorial on the Valentine Candy block if there was interest.

I am interested in the tutorial. I would like to do a lap quilt for my son’s upcoming wedding.

Beautiful! I am so reluctant to mix and match my print fabrics. I cut my batiks as small as 1 1/2 inches and mix them fine. Your quilt makes me want to start saving print "candy" squares. I love it.

javin22 07-07-2018 07:47 AM
