Love your Quilt. It's a perfect example of how a scrap quilt can be the most beautiful thing ever. Using up all those 2.5" blocks is perfect as well.

Rumbols 07-16-2018 07:19 AM

Wow!!!! Love the quilting. Great way to make Dresdens.

Bonbonary 07-16-2018 11:01 AM

I love 2.5" squares, too, but never saw them used as the little dresden flowers you made. I will definitely try them. Is there a tutorial on how to do those?

wow, beautifully done. and I like that you used the serpentine stitch for the quilting in the hearts. And I've not seen the dresdens done with the candies. I can't find the tutorial, can you post a direct link by clicking on the post # which changes the url to that exact post?

Thank you QuiltnNan... I don't know how to do what you just described. It is Post No. 15 on the first page of this thread.

It has been fun participating in some "candy" swaps to get thousands of different fabrics. The current swap is in this thread: https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...p-t285320.html. I didn't join this year, but hope to next year if they have it.

SheriR taught us how to make little dresden blocks from "candy" squares in last year's swap. I used them in the top and bottom of this quilt to make it longer. Thank you SheriR!

Since the main blocks are heart shapes, I thought it was appropriate to name the quilt "Valentine Candy."

Are you asking how to set the Valentine Candy blocks? I just put sashing between the blocks and set them on point. Here is a tutorial on how to set blocks on point: https://www.generations-quilt-patter...triangles.html

HI, is there more to the directions for the Valentine Candy quilt besides the hearts and the dresdens? Is there directions on how to put them all together to make a completed quilt? My grand daughter saw this and fell in love with it. I would love to be able to make it for her.. TIA Pat in Tn.
