Here are the fabrics I'm using for the wedding ring quilt I'm starting this week. Wish me luck , first time doing this pattern!! I do not have the fabrics for the corner pieces, just the arcs and the lightest one is for the background. Not entirely sure about the background one but we'll see how the arcs progress. I think the corner pieces will happen as the arcs develop.

Can't wait to see this, the fabrics are so pretty! Please post your progress pics!

It is going to look very pretty. Looking forward to seeing it all together!!

Love the color choice. I can't wait to see pics as you go.

Wow, fantastic colors...I love turquoise..it just pops when used with other colors, and knows how to "lay low" when it's the dominant color!
|
Oh, how GORGEOUS! I love teals (and the color family)! Definitely looking forward to seeing this finished!
|
Can't wait to see progress! Love the colors!

When I washed and prepped the background fabric I discovered that there was way too much purple in the background for my taste so I looked and looked and have as a back up a soft tie die look turquoise solid. What do you all think?
PS Fabric has been washed but not starched or ironed. This tie dye will give a softer muted look This batik has a lot of purple that is not showing up, will be dramatic, not sure about it. |
LOOKS GOOD

I think the turquoise would be too blendy. Purple and teal really are amazing colors together, I think it would be beautiful if you stuck with the batik.

My soon to be DIL knows about the quilt and she sews also, maybe I should ask her which she prefers...............? I have another batik somewhere in the basement in a box, going to dig it out. |
I'm not crazy about the circles either, while I adore the fabric, the circles will probably be too much for the wedding ring, as they're already circles! Definitely don't go blendy - contrast is what appeals to our eyes... which is probably why you don't like the circles... too many curves, no contrast!
|
I agree with Ladygen's comment about Circles with circles!
Although I do like it better than that first solid.... The colors on the second make everything POP in your other materials... |
I love the fabrics.
|
Very pretty fabrics. Can't wait to see the finished product. Maybe you can show us "progress" pics as you get started on it?
|
I love your color palette make sure you show the quilt when finished, it will be beautiful.
|
Very pretty fabrics. Don't forget to post a picture of the quilt.

Here are some of the rings and the new background I found. It is hard to see in the picture but the colors are right on. I like it cause it isn't traditional, just like the wedding couple.
|
I REALLY like the latest background fabric you have picked!!!!! It is swirly, but not circles and I think it will be absolutely gorgeous. Your wedding ring fabrics look great against it.
|
Prefect! I have some of that one around somewhere... love it, and it really does look wonderful with your wedding rings!
Good job. ;) |
Love the fabrics. Can't wait to see them in your quilt.
|
I am sure which ever one you decide on will look great.

Ok here are 4 blocks ready to applique, no corner "Jewels" yet, thinking of dark green solid and lite green solid. Have to go thru my stash or go shopping. Appliqueing 36 blocks and 24 1/2 blocks will keep me busy for a week. :-D :-D
|
Gorgeous!!!!
|
Looking good--and SO "modern" traditional.
Keep on sewing! I love watching your progress. Sue |
