We've recently had photos of "boy" quilts and "girly" quilts--I would love to see photos of wedding quilts--either ones that have been made for others, or ones that have been given to you for your wedding. I will start with posting some of the quilts my sister and I made for our family members.

Niece Sammy Jo and Tom's wedding quilt--also my avatar

This photo is of my daughter, Laura and her husband Darren's wedding/10th anniversary quilt. My sister, Chris, and I started making wedding quilts for our kids and nieces and nephews weddings after two of my kids were already married. So I had to do some backtracking and finally got this one done just after their 10th anniversary. I figure better late than never.
The second photo is of the pattern front for the quilt that my sister did for her daughter's wedding--the only part I did was stitch the binding on. I don't have an actual photo of the quilt, but it ended up looking just like the pattern.

Niece Sarah and Shan's wedding quilt--not actual photo

This isn't a wedding quilt but I made this one for my friends' 40th anniversary in 2007.

nellebelles 01-17-2010 01:06 PM

That would be such a wonderful gift to receive! Beautiful job too, stichinluvr!

Sewnsewer2--I just love both of those quilts! Especially the double wedding ring quilt--they sure take a lot of time, but WOW when they are finished--what a labor of love and work of art!

Those are all so beautiful. I haven't made a quilt for a wedding but youngest DD says when she gets married she wants a double wedding ring quilt. That's going to be a challenge.

Pam J 01-18-2010 05:30 AM

Beautiful, inspiring quilts! I see a lot of love in those quilts.
Jim's Gems, what is the pattern you used for David and Carolyn? Is it Chicklets? The colors are just lovely (so is the couple under the quilt!)
Thanks for sharing, everyone!

I am blown away (and inspired!) by the talent and creativity of the people on this board!!

Katrine 01-18-2010 08:33 AM

All the quilts are quite beautiful, the quilting as well. It must be quite daunting to embark on a large quilt for such a special occasion - I am full of admiration.

I have my late mom's wedding quilt. She was married in 1931 & her quilt was handmade by my gramma & great gramma & "bee" style quilted by them & the neighboring farm ladies. I don't know if the fabric is feed sack & wonder if there is a way to determine that once it's all together in a quilt :?:

This was a wallhanger I made for a couple that got married on the 4th of July. Its a pattern from a magazine that I just put the picture in instead.

Jim's Gem 01-18-2010 09:46 AM

Irish heart, That quilt is beautiful. what a treasure to have!

Jingle 01-18-2010 09:51 AM

It would much easier to comment on pics if each person would not post all together. Post each person's on a separate page. Thank You

ljsunflower 01-18-2010 10:54 AM
