I finally paper pieced this dresden correctly (I think anyway)!

I am going to make 3 more and make a baby quilt for charity.

I so admire those of you who paper piece, I feel so backwards doing it, but I am happy with it so far. Need to put the center on yet.

Thanks everyone. Well, I kept getting things backwards the 1st two I tried, but then the 'ah ha' moment kicked in and I got it right. I guess it took me about an hour to finally make a whole block.

Once you get the 'ah ha' it goes fast. It's a 12" block

Chele 06-24-2010 07:24 PM

So pretty! Looks like you definitely got the hang of it! I have to retrain myself every time I do paper piecing.

Adriane 06-24-2010 08:37 PM

I'm impressed! Paper piecing intimidates me to NO END! :) And kudos to you for making something for charity.

jljack 06-24-2010 08:41 PM

It is so awkward at first, but if you just work at it, and get your own "feel" for it, pretty soon it is like any other technique...you just "get it". I like your dresden....very nice.

Pam 06-24-2010 08:53 PM

Well now that you are stress free you should be able to get that charity quilt done in no time!

CAROLJ 06-24-2010 09:11 PM

thimblebug6000 06-25-2010 03:45 PM

Block & top look wonderful. I've never made a pp dresden only the appliquéd versions. I'll have to try it this way sometime too.
