Looks like you did good. Sometimes we have to make do with what's on hand. I know the rulers can get quite expensive.

love your table runners! cute fabric. very clever of you to make your own templates. something i should be working on instead of buying the rulers that always seem to get lost and never used.

Very cute and cheery!

cinnya 01-21-2012 04:53 AM

Thank you Ladies for all the nice words.
I had to adjust the template after the first one to get the proportions better, but then it went together really fast.,and I still have enough fabric left to make another one.:)
Talk about getting a headstart for next Christmas....

ladypetite 01-21-2012 07:06 AM

I think it is great....even though you improvised without the 'special' ruler!

lurag 01-21-2012 07:09 AM

This is cute and looks easy, I think that I might be able to do this one. Thx for sharing. Lura

hobo2000 01-21-2012 07:12 AM

Good for you! We do not need 100 different rulers, just some creativity and plastic. Looks fantastic.

joym 01-21-2012 07:32 AM

Rosewood9 01-21-2012 08:13 AM

Very nice!

sassy granny 01-21-2012 08:18 AM

Very pretty and good job. I too make my own patterns for a lot of things. That's why I like to bookmark things I like and think I would like to make. Unless it is very complicated, which I don't do. I can look at the comstruction of the blocks and do my own thing. Works for me.

red-warrior 01-21-2012 08:26 AM

Thanks for letting us know you can do this without the wedge ruler!! I had been thinking of buying it to make this particular project. What size template did you make for your trees? You runners looks beautiful!
