I like to put a 1/2" contrasting/accent border just before the last border (usually the focus fabric). I like to border w/that same contrasting fabric. I think that the red would be nice, but would distract from the rest. I'd like a darker textured/mottled blue (the darkest blue in the paisley border).

I would go a bit off-beat and use the darkest blue for the binding, however I think what you should do is 'audition' different choices you have here and decide what looks best to you. There are no quilt police in my house, so I do as I please!!

I like the red. I also like striped. RW&B in the right shades would be good.
|
I would bind it the same blue as the border

Navy would make all the center colors pop! IMHO

I'll add my vote for the final border fabric. IMHO you want the eye to stay in the center of the quilt, and puttng red/pink or the several color opion on the outside would draw attention to the outside.

Another vote for red binding. Either of the 2 reds.

Well well catmcclure, this was really a brainteaser!!!! Love the idea!!! Watched the video clip and since a lot of the ladies went for the red or the darker blue, that way it will put both in the picture :) I've got some red left but will have to see about getting a matching blue. I will post a picture when it's finished and thank you all for your ideas!!! Have a great Sunday!!!

Faux piped border (red piping, blue binding) would look spectacular and echo the last two borders. Also makes it so much easier to machine sew down the binding. Here's a great tutorial. http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/blog.php/blog_id/5489

use the same red as the inner border

I love your idea of making binding of several fabrics!
