What's on Your Design Board right now?

Here's what I'm working on...A baby quilt in yellows and grey/white with a cute giraffe pattern. It was quite a puzzle to put together the HST's to make it work! :)

I love seeing everyone's completed quilts but I also like seeing the quilts in progress.
Let's see what's on your design board right now!

Cute, Cute, Cute!

That is an adorable baby quillt. Thanks for sharing.

That Zebra fabric is so cute. I dislike the bulk that HST produce in the corner. This quilt I am half was done with and has a lot of PP blocks including HSTS!

NIICHMOM 06-15-2016 06:43 AM

Nothing is on my board right now. I am hand quilting 2 quilts right now. have to get at least one of these done, as I have a 3rd quilt waiting for hand quilting also. I may start another quilt on the list to avoid burnout when it comes to hand quilting.

redstilettos 06-15-2016 06:56 AM

Those are the cutest little zebras!

Doggramma 06-15-2016 07:09 AM

Such cute zebras! And I like your layout. I'm working on a quilt for our Quilt Expo in Sept. The "challenge" is black and white plus one other color. I thought it would be easier to put together black and white prints. The other part of the challenge is the quilt has to be exactly 30x40 and I don't have borders to use for fudging the size.

I currently have 3 projects on my design walls and table and they all need borders...my least favorite thing to do:

only loose strings on my design wall right now. Just finishing binding by hand on the last one to come off. Need to handle scraps that are left out from my last 2 finished UFO's, than on to my next UFO, not sure which will be. I have plenty to choose from. LOL

Not the best photo but this is a Christmas gift for my Mom and Step-dad. It a National Park Block quilt. They have been to almost all of the parks that are in the quilt. I have written the date they were there on the block.

Some friends and I are making a winter row by row. We each design a row and we all make them. I have 2 rows to go before I put it all together and border it. The next one is the hardest.

DH wants a fan quilt, which has gone to the back burner several times. The main reason was a diagnosis of cancer in a friend's 18 year old son, requiring a comfort quilt (now delivered)

Marian Schermerhorn 06-15-2016 10:36 AM

All those beautiful pieces. My board has 2 formals (weddings) hanging on it right now. They are done and ready to be picked up.

QuiltnNan 06-15-2016 12:47 PM

everyone is so creative

I love this idea! Where did you find that fabric? Great, thoughtful gift for your parents.

suern3 06-15-2016 02:16 PM

If I had a design wall, which I don't, I would have up the first block I just completed yesterday from the Lori Holt book, Farm Girl Vintage. This is a block of the month from a LQS and actually we will do 4 or 5 blocks a month. Each block finishes at 6 1/2 inches and the one I finished yesterday was the Mama Hen Block which has 25 pieces. Needless to say this will be good practice in tiny, accurate stitching for me. The blocks and the fabrics are just so cute, it is really motivating! We will be making the sampler quilt that is shown on the front cover of her book.

QUILTNMO 06-15-2016 02:25 PM

very cute!!!

RedGarnet222 06-15-2016 03:50 PM

Mine is folded up and in a drawer right now. I only have it up when the blocks have to be in a certain position.

I really enjoyed seeing all of your pretties, thanks for showing gals.

sewbizgirl 06-15-2016 04:04 PM

What a great thread! I love seeing all the works-in-progress. I don't have a design wall, but currently I'm in a "get em quilted" mode with all the tops I have accumulated. About to sandwich a vintage top I bought for hand quilting, as soon as I finish the wedding quilt I'm working on.

QM 06-15-2016 06:05 PM

My "design wall" is the Styrofoam packing that our fridge came in, duct taped to the side of the fridge. For actual layout, I use a bed. DH helps me plan the sequence.

I'm working in a stacked 4 patch for my mother. The wild tropical print came from her stash. The 4 patch centers are 4.5 " finished, the blocks will be 8.5 finished. Not sure yet how I will set them. I have enough of the tropical fabric for borders.

DOTTYMO 06-15-2016 11:18 PM

Doing jungle patches the blocks are still in the box all 9 are waiting to be zigzagged down. Sorry can't get picture from manage attachments

This is on my design "floor"....chemo quilt for a sweet little boy. His Make-a-Wish was granted, and he spent a day with the Carolina Panthers....so this quilt is In their colors, and the panther fabric is going to be the backing....those panthers just look too scary to me to be comforting!! Pattern is by Cluck Cluck Sew....

jmoore 06-16-2016 02:52 AM

So many wonderful projects posted... Watson, I love your baby quilt and giraffe print....super cute.

I am working on my gypsy wife... But I don't get much sewing time during the summer. : (

Karamarie 06-16-2016 04:15 AM

loisf - your design wall looks just like mine - the floor. Great works going on out there.

Adorable giraffe quilt! Nothing on my design bed at the moment. I'm between projects and taking advantage of the time to reorganize scraps. Have been trying to "finish" all of the UFOs lying/hanging around.

The blocks for a scrappy red and aqua Sister's Choice quilt are on my design wall right now. I just finished the last block last night. On to sashing and borders today!

Thanks for the quilt show ladies. Such diverse talent out there. My quilt is on the Tiara and will be for awhile. We leave on vacation shortly : ) so get a much needed break.

Macybaby 06-16-2016 05:32 AM

my version of Pythagora's Lute. I am waiting to get the fabric for the outer borders, and it's on order so this one is on "hold" for now.

my design wall is a pad hung over an old projector screen, picture taken before I turned it rectangular.

They are individual blocks screen printed on sateen fabric. I got them from here:

It has been a project of love for sure! I got 49 4x6 blocks to make this quilt.

Chasing Hawk 06-16-2016 07:24 AM

I can't show you ladies just yet what is up on my board. If anyone of you sneaked in and peeked I would have to confiscate your rotary cutter. :)

This is an appliqué top that I did a few years ago. Finally put it up on the design wall to try to motivate me in getting it quilted. Problem is, I just don't know how I want to quilt it. Sorry, the lighting isn't very bright.

Watson, That zebra print is adorable and your quilt is going to be perfect! I love the leaf quilt one that I keep thinking of doing.

roserips 06-16-2016 10:31 AM

Alva Stitcher your applique is beautiful and I look forward to seeing the finished work.
