I had the chance to visit my family's ca. 1780 quilt at Colonial Williamsburg in the Textile Research Museum when I attended Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival a couple weeks ago. In carefully photographing the quilt again, I was reacquainted with a repair done exactly this way well over 100 years ago, maybe even much earlier! You did good, girl!Jan in VA

Wow, that's quite the meanding job there!!!! Bet no one will notice it! Way to go!!!!

I made a quilt for my grand-daughter and her dog chewed several holes in it. I covered them with large appliqued flowers and everyone thought that was the way I designed the quilt. Don't know how to post a picture otherwise I'd show you how it turned out. You sure did a great job with your mending too!

What a wonderful patching job you did! They should be thrilled with it!

so......I'm not the only one who had to do this, huh? Same thing here - made a quilt for my girlfriend's daughter and after several years she let her mother in on her little secret - the dog ate the quilt! No problem, I told her, let me see it, and thankfully I had some of the same fabric - took off the chewed part of the border, added a section back in and it looks like I just had to piece the border! Problem solved. Now, as to the dog......well, He's not allowed back on the bed!

You did a great job!
