Great job! You'd have to look really hard to find the patch. You blended it in beautifully!

That is the reason I always try to add a piece of each color to the back of my quilts to be given. Our oldest GS had several holes made by his best friend (dog) and I simply took the back pieces and appliqued on the front to repair the damage and then appliqued over the back with other fabric in designs (sun, moon, dog, cat). He loved the quilt changes and the colors matched perfectly even though they had faded with washing.

Woo! Great job fixing it! We have a quilt (store bought) that got nibbled on by our dog when she was a pup. She's since passed on, and that's one hole I'll never fix.

you did perfectly! The same thing just happened to my daughter on the first quilt she made for herself, without ME helping her. She was so heartbroken. But I talked her through the patching just like you did as hers was almost identical. Just the top border! It looks LOVED now! And her hubby has learned a valuable lesson in why puppies are NOT allowed to be left unattended in mommy's bed!

You did a great repair job! Who would ever know it had been damaged?

You did a wonderful job on the patch. I keep my pets off my quilts. Some I have given away have cats with claws and big dogs allowed to lay on them. If something like this happened they would probably just throw the quilt away. Makes me shudder when people tell me how their pets like laying on a quilt I have given to the person. Most people really don't appreciate a homemade quilt.
