I posted the start of this quilt with the batiks and received an overwhelming amount of compliments. I am now posting the picture with the center done. I am at a stand still currently with the inner board color. I was thinking, dreaming last night about it, a burgundy marble maybe and inch or inch and a half and then put the outer border with the burgundy as the binding. What do you think?

Awesome! I think the burgundy would look great!
I also dream about quilting, my kids think that I am nuts!

ann clare 03-17-2011 07:28 AM

Beautiful

cherrio 03-17-2011 07:34 AM

very nice! they told me the dresden was a beginner block but it gave me fits. I have had so much trouble that I put it away and moved on. I will try again someday. I always ended up with a tiny teeny hole where the middle circle goes . . . sigh

Flugiepoo 03-17-2011 07:35 AM

This is absolutely stunning and the burgunday sounds perfect.. Keep up the good work...

bjeriann 03-17-2011 07:50 AM

SewCraftyGirl 03-17-2011 08:57 AM

Unfortunately, I don't have any insights on the boarder, but I love your quilt top and can't WAIT to see it quilted!

me too-but 1 of my daughters is the same way-the other thinks I am crazy. Burgundy would be great as a border

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 03-17-2011 09:20 AM

Once again I'm surprised at how much I love this quilt. I may have to quit saying I don't like batiks. You are converting me with your great quilt.

blossom808 03-17-2011 09:23 AM

You did a wonderful job. I think any color you choose would look great. blossom

cjomomma 03-17-2011 09:37 AM

Beautiful Quilt. I think you idea for the border would be great. Those darn quilting dreams are what cause me to ditch one project and start another one.

malega 03-17-2011 09:50 AM

That is so very beautiful.

mygirl66 03-17-2011 01:42 PM

I think the burgandy would look nice, but I think the blue would really make it pop!

don't give up on the dresden plate that you started (for the person who put hers away). Just go on line and watch some youtube on dresden plate construction. I like Missouri quilt company's video.

sewingsuz 03-17-2011 02:50 PM

This is very Beautiful. How are you going to quilt it and what color boarders? Very nice Job

Dani 03-17-2011 04:31 PM

Your quilt is coming along beautifully! Can't wait to see the quilting you decide to do....lot's of space to show off! I think any of the colors in your quilt would be wonderful. Whatever you choose makes your quilt that color because it pulls out those colors in the dresdens.

LAB55 03-17-2011 04:57 PM

Beautiful !! :-)

janethagy 03-17-2011 05:07 PM

It's lovely--I like burgandy--I, too, dream of quilts. I do my best work and figure out problems in my dreams!! You're fine!

All I can say is Wow! What a beautiful quilt top. Love the way you lined everything up. Yes to the burgandy border.

PunkQuilter 03-18-2011 04:42 AM

I have many many of those striped batiks myself. Just how hard did you have to work to 'line up' the stripe for that circle look or did it happen naturally? It's so pleasing to the eye.

Mariposa 03-18-2011 04:56 AM

Wow! Very bright!! :)

Tweety2911 03-18-2011 06:35 AM
