Hi and welcome to the board from Iowa. Nothing to be embarrassed about. We all have a beginner's quilt; some of us have many of them (smile). Looks like you are on the right track and this will be very nice when done. Keep going!!

crafty gal 07-08-2011 05:29 PM

I think you are doing great! Quilting is like everything else we learn to do well in life ~ we do it a step at a time and it takes practice and patience to get better and better. You are on the right track. Your fabric choice is great.

thimblebug6000 07-08-2011 05:39 PM

Welcome to the board! You've taken a huge step just learning how to post pictures here....and thanks for that. I really enjoy seeing what everyone is up to.

Rose L 07-08-2011 05:43 PM

Welcome to the QB from Nebraska!
This is going to be a great quilt! Keep working at it and post again when you're finished. We'd love to see the completion.

ssnare 07-08-2011 05:46 PM

I like it.

Pickles 07-08-2011 05:49 PM

Your doing wonderful, just keep at it, you'll get better with each quilt you do, we all started with that first one :-D

lisalisa 07-08-2011 05:56 PM

Don't be embarrassed. Quilting, like any fine art (or sport lol), takes practice. If it were so easy, everyone would do it. Remember the end goal, to have something to snuggle with. If all you ever accomplish is that, then you've succeeded.

I love puppies. Can't wait to see your finished product.

GwynR 07-08-2011 06:13 PM

Hey Jo! I will have to try and find some pictures for you of the puckered messes I have made of a few things over the years, you are doing great! I am happy to see you on this board too! :-)

debcavan 07-08-2011 06:14 PM

Always remember that every long journey begins with one step.

julia58 07-08-2011 06:44 PM

We all started somewhere. I think you will do just fine. And if you have questions, just ask. No need to feel embarrassed. That is why this board is here. To help.

blueangel 07-08-2011 07:26 PM

quilting Carol 07-08-2011 09:19 PM

gerswin 07-08-2011 09:22 PM

at least you have straight seams in your first quilt!! lol :-D

JEL523 07-08-2011 10:48 PM

Welcome to the Quilting Board. You are doing fine - just remember, you are your own worst critic. Like others have said, we all have to start somewhere and believe me, my first (and second, third, etc.) attempts at learning a new skill leave plenty of room for growth.

CoventryUK 07-08-2011 11:11 PM

Welcome to the board from the UK!! You are doing a great job!! The main thing is you ENJOY it!! There is a lot of help here if you need it!! We were all beginners at one time!!!

earthwalker 07-09-2011 01:13 AM

Looking good...persevere and in no time you will have your first quilt of many. Welcome from Perth, Western Australia.

laalaaquilter 07-09-2011 03:41 AM

Welcome! Looking forward to your finish ;-)

Arleners 07-09-2011 03:59 AM

Everyone has to start somewhere. You are doing great. Keep at it and soon you will be able to make more complicated quilts.

Painiacs 07-09-2011 04:12 AM

You did a great job!! Welcome from. Michigan!! Can't wait to see your next quilt!!!

texaspam 07-09-2011 04:13 AM

I think you are doing a good job. It looks like you are fussy cutting the squares so you will have a dog face in each square. It may be a simple design, but cutting all those squares will take time.

Nora Lee 07-09-2011 04:20 AM

You're doing fine! Keep up the good work, the little puckers make you first quilt "unique", no one else can make one like it. It's "Uniquely Yours"!

cowgirlquilter 07-09-2011 04:26 AM

We all have more than at least a couple of beginner quilts, and I have kept all mine, cuz they remind me of the hard work and effort it all began with. Keep on working and keep posting....

yetta 07-09-2011 04:32 AM

give yourself a big pat on the back, your dog fabric is great, I used the same fabric in a quilt, I loved the dogs faces, they seemed so real, well done, keep up the good work...and post a pic when it is cmpleted,

roadrunr 07-09-2011 04:43 AM

You are off to a good start, just continue and you'll get teh hang of it. Just remember to make sure all your pieces are cut right.

GABBYABBY 07-09-2011 04:58 AM

It's looking good!!! You have definitely got the
sewing bug!!!!

twinkie 07-09-2011 05:05 AM

Why are you ashamed? It is great

dmyers 07-09-2011 05:21 AM

Welcome! Please don't feel embarassed for sharing your wonderful pics. No one is perfect and that's what's so fun about this site, we share and learn. Plus we all were beginners at one time or another. I've been a beginner many times as I take long breaks from quilting and I seem to forget things. Can't wait to see more pics!

grandmajuki 07-09-2011 05:22 AM

Got to start somewhere... hang on to it to show a few years from now... you will love it!
