a woven quilt - using 2.5" strips

I put together this top lately. It was tedious, I'll admit, but the end result was worth it.

I hope to quilt it soon.

The original pattern is a Moda one and they designed it for jelly roll strips. When I saw it, I thought it perfect for some of my 2.5" strips in my scraps bag.

I made this one an 8x8 layout for a queen sized quilt.

Pattern is here:

Actually there are. :) Plus, a lot of shirts from the USA that I cut up (purchased at thrift stores or yard sales for $1).

Looks lovely. I have attempted a quilt that has a woven effect but I was working with larger blocks.

WOW. Lady when do you have time to sleep (or do you) or eat. You seem to turn these beauties out like no tomorrow. I guess if I didn't spend so much time on this board I might get more done. Oh well! Your work is amazing. Thanks for the link. Great way to use my scraps and FQ's. BrendaK

My only advice...use fabric with strong colors--not fabrics with a lot of white in them--they don't show up well in the weave.

WMUTeach 04-11-2014 04:00 AM

I just bookmarked the pattern. This looks like a wonderful scrap buster and it makes a really impressive quilt. I can just hear folks saying......"How did you do that?"

twinkie 04-11-2014 04:07 AM

I would think it would be very tedious. Great look.

juliea9967 04-11-2014 04:15 AM

joyful1 04-11-2014 05:07 AM
