Rumor has it that this a real bear to make - any tips? shortcuts? advice?

The cutting out took longer than anything and keeping track of what you cut. After that it was a breeze to put together. The two things I would change would be not to use the decor bond in the lining also, too much of a good thing. I will use something lighter. And I would change the zipper in the top to a sport zipper, one with bigger teeth.

I have requests from a niece for one, that one will be in Nebraska colors.

wow...I love it...it is batiks, purples, BIG...lots of stashing pockets...just LOVE it...hope she did too!

thanks for the tips...always good to know what to leave out/change when doing a bag pattern!
