Yours is wonderful!!! Did you find making it confusing? I think I made one and I screwed it up at least a half dozen times. I really like the different colors you used because they are so different. On mine the fabrics sort of blurr together. Your "missing" puzzle piece is so fun and looks perfect. How will you be quilting it? Thanks so much for posting our wonderful work!

And I had no idea it already had a border on it till I read your comments. Neat quilt. You really did match the floor color accurately!! You did a very good job on it.

The extra puzzle piece appliqued to the edge is great! It makes that quilt have the pizzazz that makes it very fun.

But I also like the fact that she will forever have a missing piece because the piece that she appliqued to the edge won't actually fit into the spot on the puzzle. :)

We do a lot of puzzles here in our house and I think it is really cute! I've "copied your picture" to my special quilts file. It's really, really cute!

The blocks finish at 8". For the borders, I did 2 10" borders and 2 5" (I didn't want to make it too big with all 10" )... math... roughly 71.5" x 79.5"

I'd love to see yours. Is a picture posted? I checked through you topics, but nothing jumped out at me.

It wasn't too confusing. I have a huge living room floor (as you can see in the picture) and claimed it for a few days. I laid out the quilt, picked up all the middle pieces of the block, sewed them, laid them back out, then attached to the top and bottom of the block, then laid them back out, etc. The big thing that saved me was laying them out every single time, since I have a bad habit of assuming I didn't mix anything up and chaos ensuing :D

That is exactly why I redid it! I grew up doing puzzles, love love love them, and it bugged me that the patterns didn't have edges. Especially, since most puzzle officionados (sp.) will tell you, the edges are the most important part. For my next one, I'm going to do irregular pieces, since few of my puzzles had all the nice same piece shape!

See if this helps. Each piece is square, with 1 main color and 2 add'l colors. They then line up next to the matching color.

Within each block, you sew the middle piece to the 2 squares also in the middle, then attach the top and bottom. All the while being careful you don't change the orientation :D

Let me know if you're still confused!
