Sandra.....that's it. Just built around the square. I used 2" strips so with the 2 1/2" strips, it would go faster and use less squares. I had enough fabric left over to use four squares on the back, bordering those with strip after strip for a two sided quilt. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the back side....Dumb of me! I also had enough left to make a multi-colored binding from the leftovers. Mine was a kit which had 27 half yard pieces. I did have to cut it all though. The kit was called "The Dark Side". All of the batiks are RJ Kaufmann. I got it on sale for $89 a year ago and was thrilled. If you make one, please share.....:o)
