It is an amazing present! They are sure to love the beauty of the colors and the design; as well as all of the love and thought that went into this piece of art....

Where'd ya get the pattern? Are you willing to share how you put this together?
As I said, I got the idea from Barnbum's "Kayak on the Lake" quilt. They are just Kalidescope blocks, set on point, with log cabin (not sure what the name of this type of log cabin is called, the first square is in one corner instead of the middle) blocks for the mountains. All the blocks were easy to put together. The plain (sky, clouds) blocks gave me the most trouble. I forgot to cut them out on point, so the first time, I had tilted clouds!! Of course, that meant I didn't have enough fabric, and I had bought the last piece locally, so in a panic, a week before the wedding, I had to send away for more of it! It came quickly and it was done in time!

That quilt is truly an original--such creativity is displayed.

Wanna trade??? I guess that'd be hard since Rachel claimed mine and yours is a gift. And what a gift it is!!

Bravo! Clap! Clap!! Clap!!!
Is the tree fabric the same one that you used??? How funny, when I was online looking for a backing fabric, I found many tree fabrics, and meadows, and other landscape type fabrics, this is the one my DH liked, so that was the choice. When I ordered it I couldn't tell which way it ran, lengthwise or crosswise, and I had to know to know how much to buy. I called the store and asked but my interpretation was not the same as the person at the store, so I ended up without enough fabric, thankfully I had made more blocks than I needed and used them on the back also.
Now I'm going to look at it again--love those circles that show up!!
