That sure is a pretty quilt! If you're using cotton, you should be able to just sid all the sashing, then stitch around all the Sues. Otherwise, I would look at the packaging on my batting to see how far apart you need to quilt. MAy need to also go around her hat and apron.

Stunning! If she uses it intensily I would stiple the space around the Sue and and do some decorative stitches on the Sue. Also just run a line through the sashing. If she does not use it as much maybe only outline quilt the Sue and tie the setting squares in the sashings. I would maybe even tie in the setting squares when you stiple too because it would look really cute. I tend to stiple alot on kids quilts that way they can use them and there is no worries about it coming apart.

Thanks for all your input. Many of the scraps that I used in this quilt were from things that I made for her since birth, outfits, blankets, toys, books etc. Her brother Noah is 5 and he loves dinosaurs and cars. I found a dinosaur pattern but decided it was too babyish for him. Any ideas? I was thinking of applique. He already has a bug jar quilt.

I just love this quilt! We finally have a little girl in the family, a great niece, I would love to try one of these! Out of all the boys, I made my 5 yr old Grandson a simple denim quilt, strips and sqaures. Gave him some washable markers and he doodles on it all the time. Then his mom just washes it and away he goes again! If I were to do another I would stich some bubble letters on, maybe some open simple designs to trace and color in...thanks for sharing your quilt!!
