Default Quilt for Teachers

Granddaughter asked me to make two quilts for her favourite teachers, first time since kindergarten she has liked any of her teachers. She has OCD and not understood by previous teachers making it very difficult for her as a student. She asked her classmates if they would color pictures of owls, because the teachers are much wiser than those previously. I found some owls on a previous quilt on QB, so drew up a copy and provided them to my granddaughter. 60 pictures were returned to me for her quilts. Here are the completed quilts she will provide to her two favourite teachers at the end of this term in 2014.

Wow! A child deciding she has wise teachers and coming up with the idea of owls to represent their wisdom. That is great.

Beautiful quilt and thought! I hope she comes up with a label that tells the story of the owl choice! What a wonderful way to honor our great teachers.

I love your idea, love owls, and I love your quilt! Great way to honor good teachers! Did you have them color on paper and then transfer to fabric, or did you have them color directly directly on to the fabric?
