No, I love fleece backing for babies, and minky is good too, very soft. Use a walking foot and all problems will be solved.

if a quilt is tied properly the knots will not come out.

this is surgeons knot, wrapped twice. wrapped once is a square knot. the only two that should be used in quilting.

also, cotton thread is less likely to loosen, acrylic or ribbon are more likely

thanks...they are using "under the sea" as the babies room decor, so I thought it would go.

I have heard not to tie baby quilts. The dear baby could choke on the ties. I would machine quilt it.
