A quilt of true valor
This is for my brother-in-law. He served with the Special Forces in Iraq & Afghanistan and survived. A year ago this past Easter he was working as a civil servant in Afghanistan when an IED went off in his face severely injuring him and killing some of his co-workers civilians and military. The perpetrator was killed. My BIL was blinded in one eye and lost the other. He has had a long road but is doing well. The government gave him a seeing eye dog and apparently that has helped immensely as he can go out on his own more now. My SIL is expecting their first baby together, this will be their 6th child when you mix the blended family all up. They are thrilled! At 41 she says she never saw this coming!! It's a girl, pics of that quilt when I finish it. So the QOV has arrived in their town and will be presented soon. My BIL says when he was in Walter Reed alot of guys got quilts and he always wondered when he was going to get his. The section of QOV does a big presentation. I wrote a letter for them to read, they are going to take a video for me as I am out of town and a relative. Otherwise they would just take a photo. They have been very nice. They are going to work around the baby's arrival. They do a group presentation of about 10-15 veterans. They have presented 800 quilts (they are in a big metro area near a military hospital), QOV really works if you are thinking about it.
