Dodie, several months ago we had one of our church members (an ordained minister without a church) accepted as pastor of a small church several miles from our church. We were so sorry to lose this couple but thrilled that he was going to be doing GOD's work. The church was struggling so I thought I would show some support. I saw a picture of the cross using the log cabin idea but had no instructions. I thought I would try to make them one. This is what I came up with.

It measured 21 x 28" and my DH framed it with plexiglass and used rough cut redwood. They were thrilled and when I saw these I thought they would be perfect for our veterans. The piano key border just seemed to fit so well with the cross. Several members of one of my quilt guilds really loved the cross so I made a paper pattern on graph paper. If you PM me your e-mail I will try to send you a copy. Thanks for the kind words.

twinkle is it possible for you to put the graph pattern up some how, for those of us who would like to make them.

By far the best QOV quilt I have seen, a great work of love for your church veterans.

    Thank you for sharing

This is a close up of the cross. It may look a little crooked but it isn't. I promise

Now just 5 more to go. Thanks for looking.
Your quilt is simply lovely and your jester for your veterans is simply wonderful. Koodos to you for such a selfless act of generosity.

No criticism from this quarter. It's great! How many will you make?

Trying to answer the questions posted to me. I will make six of these lap quilts before November. And yes I will try to post the pattern I drew. I will have to scan it.
