I think if you hand quilt it could take forever. It you machine quilt it could be really hard unless you have a long arm or mid arm. In deed it is a beautiful quilt. Keep us posted. I would love to see it when you are done. :):):)

I'd machine quilt it . I would go around the basket blocks& the samplers in the middle. I would also quilt thru the middle of gold/lt brown diamond sqs on the outside of middle. then I'd fill in from there. very lovely!

Sharon - what a beautiful quilt. I would do somthing simple because this quilt is busy with all kinds of interesting blocks. Just a meander or outline and something a little more elborate in the border area.

What a wonderful quilt. I haven't a clue how it should be quilted but couldn't pass up the opportunity to comment on this beautiful quilt.

Sharon---what a great quilt, you have put some work into it.
If your not in a rush to finish it I would hand quilt, shadow or echo quilt it,or as someone has suggested quilt in the ditch
Let us see it when you are finished.

Have you considered an all over cross-hatching? That might bring the long-arm costs down and still be awe inspiring.

Cross-hatching would be my first suggestion. It would be easy for you to do either by machine or by hand. It would look very traditional as does the quilt. Great Job!!

Absolutley gorgeous - love everything about it - colors, patterns, etc...
As for quilting, when I get stumped I make a etching of it and start doodling in the various areas. Doing feathers, flowers, SID, etc... Surprising what comes ups. Whatever you decide, have fun with it.
