Very unique

(it looks like I'm adding yet another quilt to my growing to do list)

Did you applique flowers after piecing blocks together?

The blocks are not appliqued after. If you look at all the blue flowers you will see there are six. one background fabric, 3 different blue fabrics sewn on top in 3 sizes. then cut the block in 4 pieces, and mix them up. this way all the background fabrics get mixed too. fun for scraps.

Do you cut out behind the circles in this quilt? I have seen instructions for it both ways (cut out behind and then some instructions leaving all the layers intact). Just curious as to which way you did yours.

Yes I cut out what i could from the back, however it probably would just be alittle heavier if you didn't cut out.
