Raided my stash for Christmas 2014

I made two-sided placemats and matching coasters for my sister-in-law for Christmas and hobby horse-style gifts for my two granddaughters...a zebra for Quorrah and an elephant (not an ant-eater) for Ellie. I didn't have a pattern for the hobby horses and just kinda winged it. If I try another elephant someday, I'll modify the trunk so that it looks less like an aardvark.

Don't put yourself down. that is obviously an elephant. I love the eyelashes on the zebra.

    Nice projects.
I think the elephant looks like great and I adore the zebra. Wouldn't mind having one of those for myself.

Those are so cute. Really like the Christmas fabric (mistletoe, etc). And the stick zebra and elephant will be fun for them. Thanks for sharing with us.

Love your work. Looks more like an elephant nothing close to an aardvark. Cute as a button I might add.

I love the hobby-horses! And your comments are just too funny - that is such an Elegant Elephant.

Wonderful gifts! Love those hobby horses, esp w/o a pattern!!! I'll bet the kids loved them...have they named them yet?

Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments. The hobby horses were fun to make, but I haven't heard if the girls have given them names yet. My oldest granddaughter will be 2 at the end of March (she got the Zebra) and the youngest turned 1 just a few days before Christmas, so names may be a while in the making (though those two girls never cease to amaze me with their quick development & of course, time passes faster than any of us really like).

You did a really great job. I do love the Zebra, would love to have the Zebra on the end of my broom. Maybe I would use it more, than just for flying (per my DH). Still think it would look cute on the end of a broom.

'm sorry but I had to laugh at the aardvark comment! Too funny. I agree with the poster who said she was an elegant elephant! Wonderful job!
Do not worry about the past, for it is history,
Do not worry about the future, for it is a mystery,
Only live for today, for it is a gift, that is why it is called "the present."

Good grief - an Aardvark it is not. Look at those ears. It's adorable - both of them are.
By the way, thanks to everyone who contributes to the Quilting Board. It has been of real benefit to me. I'm 83 yrs. old and mostly confined. I don't contribute much, but I sure do read a lot on it. I love making table runners and octagon or circular table toppers. Dodee
