Default Ran close on the bobbin!

One of my wife’s friends wanted to make a casserole carrier but didn’t like any of the pre-quilted fabric she found locally. She asked me to quilt a yard of fabric for her. I partially filled a bobbin thinking it couldn’t possibly take much thread to do this job. I started quilting, and ran out quickly, so I decided to do a full bobbin and just use what was left in my domestic. When my wife asked how much was left I pulled the bobbin case out and couldn’t believe how close it was. I had 23” to spare in the bobbin!

You can see where I had to bury and restart about a foot above the 19” mark on the yardstick.

Pretty fabric and quilting. Don't you love when you have just enough thread and don't run short?

Was the fabric quilted on a long arm using a Pantograph? If not, you do terrific free motion quilting.

Yes it was done with a panto on a Babylock Crown Jewel. I wish I could free motion and have it look so nice and even. Maybe someday!

Making your own quilted fabric is a time consuming project. I decided to grid quilt, 1" apart, Christmas stocking fabric for 18 stockings and it took me weeks using painters tape and sewing along each side, then moving. Glad that project is over and done with, as are the stockings! Your meandering is wonderful, but I didn't have that luxury : ) You're a kind friend.

That was really cutting it close with the bobbin thread. Nice quilting.
