Two years ago I attended a Quilting seminar with Ricky Tims, Alex Anderson and Libby Lehman. I have tried to make very little of the projects and techniques we learned. Two weeks ago I decided to change that. I opened the syllabus and made this Kool Kaleidoscope using Ricky's techniques. It was a lot of fun to make and now that I understand the techniques I know exactly what I will change the next time I make it.
The second one is a small wallhanging of Our lady of Guadalupe. I got a panel from a web site I posted a couple of weeks ago: Exotic Textiles. Is a ebay stores with lots of hard to find fabrics. They were excellent. Quick shipping and reasonable prices.

I love the kaleidascope. It's very striking, but looks very difficult to make. :!:

Is definitely not a project for beginners, but is not all that difficult. The main thing is to be able to sew a very straight line and able to match seams very well. The most difficult one is the fist stratta. After the first one all the rest are easier.

Wow, Maride! That is gorgeous. I just bought the same Our Lady of Guadalupe fabric. I'm making a big art quilt for my brother, and she is his favorite likeness of the madonna. It's such great fabric too!

Great quilts ! Where did you get the Our Lady of Guadalupe fabric ? I was named after her and would love to make a wall hanging  My middle name is Guadalupe, definitely very different for a small town Polish girl  LOL
