Red Half Log Cabin: ANy suggestions?
#34
This will be my first large quilt on point. I have Sally Terry's book, "Pathways from Quilt Top to Quilted " and there is a section about it. I really like her books.
Very Pretty. The feathers in the light areas are a good choice. Personally I don't stitch in the ditch well, so I'd avoid that and just stitch the darks with lines diagonal to the patch. Ends up looking just like long parallel diagonal lines, but very effective. I don't have the courage to put the quilt on point on the frame. Have you done this before? Any tips? My starts and stops are usually a bit of a mess, so stitching the feathers continuously would be nice.

A very nice quilt! You did do a very good job of piecing it. is the quilting you are talking about "Hand quilting"? Wish you were closer, I hate to sound like I am bragging, but I do do excellent bindings.
